Don’t be deceived by our name. We work with all types of wood, but we also build beautiful products with lots of other materials. Pittsburgh Arena Hotel Associates, LP, partnership between Horizon Properties Group and the Pittsburgh Penguins, is developing a 142 room hotel on a one-acre parcel directly east of and adjacent to the new Pittsburgh Penguins Arena (Consol Energy Center). The hotel will be owned and operated by Pittsburgh Arena Hotel Associates, LP. The project is currently in the design phase and TECH2000 is bidding on this project. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if local business owner and long-time season ticket holder, Keith Geller of TECH2000, helped to build the New Arena Hotel?!   GO PENS!!

Did you know that Bamboo is actually not a wood, but a grass, continuously sending up new shoots after harvesting without a need for replanting? With a growth rate of up to a meter or more per day, Bamboo holds the world record as the fastest growing plant. Bamboo can be utilized in just 4-5 years, unlike traditional hardwooods that not only take 20-25 years to mature, but also require planting. Bamboo takes in nearly 5 times the amount of greenhouse gasses, and produces 35% more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees, making it an efficient replenisher of fresh air. Bamboo is arguably one of the world’s best rapidly renewable, sustainable resources and TECH2000 has lots of experience working with Bamboo. Wow! What a show we had in Vegas this year! The number of people and exhibits was a bit overwhelming, but we managed to be a standout again, winning “OUTSTANDING BOOTH” two years in a row!  Keith Geller and the guys in the shop did a masterful job of turning Debbie Green’s design (Perspectives In Print) into reality. Our bamboo cashwrap and walls were a huge hit and a stunning display of this rapidly renewable resource that is very much in demand with designers. The daybed, lounger, ottomans and the little baby ottomans (aka poofs) got a lot of attention and plenty of use, as attendees welcomed the chance to take a break.  We enjoyed meeting each and every visitor and look forward to providing solutions to the design challenges presented to all of us this year.

BTW – We had no time or energy for anything but the work while we were in Vegas. That’s our story, and we’re sticking to it…
